Pain reprocessing coaching

Pain Reprocessing Coaching has immense power to undo the power that pain sensations have over your life. You will learn skills to retrain the brain to lessen or eradicate your pain sensations.

Learn

Learn and adopt skills that help you understand your pain sensations, increase self-compassion, and utilize techniques to reprogram your brain’s response to pain. The goal is for you to harness the power of your brain’s neuroplasticity to eliminate your pain sensations.

Change

Psychogenic pain or ‘neural circuit’ pain describes bodily sensations that have a psychological rather than a physical origin. In other words, it is felt pain without a biological or physical source. Conditions related to chronic pain were first characterized by John Sarno as tension myositis syndrome (TMS) and later referred to as ‘neural circuit pain’ or ‘psychophysiologic disorder’ (PPD).

DANIEL BALDWIN HESS

chronic PAIN COACH

Daniel B. Hess earned a Master of Social Work from Arizona State University.* , and has decades of experience as a counselor. Daniel suffered from chronic pain for many years before achieving his own recovery, prompting him to expand his professional capabilities—beyond his fulfilling career in higher education—in pursuit of supporting others in conquering their pain. Daniel utilizes an integrated model of biopsychosocial systems and cognitive behavioral coaching from an LGBTQ-supportive and trauma-informed foundation. He is trained in Pain Reprocessing Coaching and Emotional Awareness and Expression Coaching.

He received training as a pain coach at The Better Mind Center from Christie Uipi, a leader in the field. He was previously a dancer in touring Broadway musicals from coast to coast, and he is eager to connect with people who experience chronic pain from the arts, performing arts, and sports world.
